 Dillingham Pride 2022

Dillingham held Bristol Bay’s second-ever pride march on June 4, 2022. Scores of people came together at the Dillingham Harbor to celebrate love and identity. Read the full story here.

 Spokane Pro-Choice March 2022

May 14, 2022, nearly 1,000 people in Spokane came to march in protest of a leaked draft from the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. The march began in Riverfront Park and ended in front of a federal courthouse downtown.

 Downtown Fire Aftermath

Thursday, April 7, 2022, a large structure fire broke in downtown Spokane just after 5 a.m. and was doused at around 7:15 a.m. that day. After the fire, Spokane Fire Department came back to the area to learn more about what happened and how they can improve future responses.

 The Unique Ekuk Fishery

The village of Ekuk is only populated by two people year-round however, every summer, the village is robust with people hauling fish from the beaches to the cannery in trucks. I had the opportunity to travel to the village and photograph people at work as another reporter interviewed about erosion. Read the story by my colleague, Tyler Thompson here.

Dillingham Pride 2021

The first pride event in Bristol Bay. Several people came to meet at the Bristol Bay Native Association parking lot to support people who identify as LGBTQIA+. Read the story by my colleague, Izzy Ross here.

Twin Dragon’s Last Days

Twin Dragon was a local favorite in Dillingham, AK for 30 years before closing in June 2021. In the restaurant’s final days, Owners Bong and Young Lee thanked the community for their support over the years. The first image is taken by Izzy Ross. Read more about their story here.

Fire at K Camp

A small structure fire near the Dillingham senior center - the second in two years. The fire was controlled quickly and no injuries were reported. Read the story by my colleague Stephanie Maltarich here.
