I grew up in Dillingham, Alaska - a small town of just over 2000 people on the coast of Bristol Bay. I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA and obtained a degree in Music Education, but later found work in radio journalism back in Alaska.

I started at KDLG Public Radio as as an announcer, but developed an interest in journalism and began interviewing and writing for the Bristol Bay Fisheries Report. I signed on as a full-time reporter on general assignment later that year. I now work at KMXT Public Radio in Kodiak.

I purchased my first camera, a Fujifilm X-T200, in Fall 2020 to pursue photojournalism and landscape photography. I now primarily shoot on a Fujifilm X-T4 and oft create compelling visuals to accompany articles for web posting as well as share my best images (and the occasional tip) on my monthly blog and newsletter.

I am the son of Filipino immigrants from a small town near Tagaytay. My father came to the US in 1990 to pursue better opportunities for his family and eventually settled in Alaska a few years later. My mother moved here with my two sisters the following year and I was born the year after that.

On top of photography, my hobbies include pyrography, hiking, kayaking, cooking, swing dancing, and music performance.

Feel free to contact me with any inquiries about my career or any of my photos.
